Having only owned Rhodes clones in the past, I was blown away by the MK8’s depth of character.

This is a real living breathing instrument from the feel of the excellent keybed to the beautiful richly complex sound.
When I first read about the new Rhodes and that it was being built in Yorkshire and only a mile from where I live, it seemed hard to believe. But it was true.
From putting down a deposit, my experience with Rhodes has been excellent. Living nearby I was able to arrange a visit to the workshop, meeting the team and playing the fantastic piano. Dan and the team were very welcoming and rightly proud of what they were doing.
There were delays due to supply and quality issues. I was always kept informed of progress with clear explanations. It was obvious that there was a vision of what the Rhodes should be and that there were no compromises or corner-cutting.
So I took delivery of my Rhodes, and it was more than worth the wait. This is a real, living, breathing instrument, from the feel of the excellent keybed to the beautiful, richly complex sound. There is so much to explore with the effects, which are an organic part of the instrument. Take a signal direct from the harp via the send to a valve amp and get the pure essence of classic Rhodes.
I am lucky to have been able to afford a Rhodes; not everyone can. But having seen the complexity and work of developing and building the instrument, when compared to any other quality instrument, be it a guitar, violin, or saxophone, the Rhodes is worth every penny.
All the team, from designers to sales, should be very proud.

I was lucky enough to be the first UK customer to take possession of a Rhodes MK8-FX – delivered personally and with great care by Rhodes staff.
My father, who had always supported my musical career, died in 2020 and left me a small amount of money, which I used to purchase the keyboard in tribute to him. I can honestly say that the daily joy the piano brings me makes me certain he would look down approvingly at what I’ve done.

It brings me daily inspiration and joy.

I spent a couple of hours playing with it, and this experience was fantastic.

I then experimented with all the piano’s functions, both in the preamp and effects sections – so many parameters and possibilities to explore, some bring us close to synthesis.
Everything is very well thought out, well designed, and easy to use while playing. It feels like a very solid and complete instrument.
This combination of an amazing sound, wonderful additions and a great design makes this Rhodes an extremely inspiring instrument. Already, some new tunes emerged from this session.
This MK8 really is a beast. The sound is just perfect to me.
I received my long-awaited MK8 FX. Owning a Rhodes has been a dream for about 30 years or so.
It sounds exactly how I was hoping it would, and way better than on the Youtube videos.
The Vari-Pan is also above my expectations. I love it.
The chorus, the delay, etc. everything is really top quality. Everything goes from subtle changes to crazy stuff, but always musical and usable.
The keyboard is also amazing. It feels somehow heavy, but at the same time, one can play very fast. It’s the best compromise.
To finish, something I never experienced on a digital keyboard: I can feel the vibrations under my fingers… this is magical.
