The Rhodes MK8 ‘Glacial’, the latest creation from the Custom Shop, is a design shaped by the quiet intensity of winter – embodying a restrained, crystalline design language inspired by the stark beauty of frozen winter landscapes, brought to life through expert craftsmanship.
Hand-built by Rhodes Master Builders in Leeds, UK, the MK8 ‘Glacial’ delivers the same depth, warmth and expressive detail that define the MK8’s lineage. Here, that sonic character meets a visual identity lightly informed by the North’s famously brisk, unpredictable weather, where every Rhodes piano is crafted. A fitting tribute to a design engineered to look as crisp as its name.
Produced in extremely limited numbers and never to be repeated, the Rhodes MK8 ‘Glacial’ stands as a frozen moment in time. It is precise, pristine, and designed to inspire – a piano that feels carved from the season itself.

Key Features
THE STARK BEAUTY OF WINTER
At the MK8 Glacial’s centre is a hand-engraved transparent hood, etched with a bespoke frost motif evoking ice fractals that decorate windows in the early hours, catching and refracting light across the pristine ‘Arctic White’ harp beneath.
Together, the ‘Arctic White’ front panel, cheekblocks, a white tolex base, and a matching sustain pedal create an all-white silhouette – a seamless, sculptural presence, reminiscent of Antarctica’s infinite ice sheets. ‘Subtle accents of ‘Frostline Blue’ across the inlays and dial caps shimmer alongside a silver-on-’Frostline Blue’ front and rear logo plate.
